Local/County: Property Tax Relief
This program requires the placement of the property in the possession of a public entity such as a Development Authority. Through this process, an abatement of real and/or personal property taxes may be available from the city and/or county. The terms of the bonds will vary depending on county but typically range from 5 to 10 years and can also vary in percent of tax relief. |
State/Discretionary: Regional Economic Business Assistance (REBA) Grant
REBA is an incentive program for competitive projects whereby companies are considering Georgia and another state or country for their location or expansion. REBA funds may be used to finance various fixed-asset needs of a company including infrastructure, real estate acquisition, construction, or machinery and equipment. A local development authority must be the applicant for a REBA application and the application must be supported by a recommendation letter from a state agency, typically the Georgia Department of Economic Development. |
State/Statutory: Job Tax Credit:
Georgia provides a statewide job tax credit for any business or headquarters of any such business engaged in manufacturing, warehousing and distribution, processing, telecommunications, tourism, or research and development industries. The value of the credit will vary depending on the county where the facility is located. Coweta County is a Tier 4 county which offers a credit of $750 per job, per year for the first five years of each qualifying job that is created during a five-year window after the project qualifies. There is a $500 Joint Development Authority bonus per net new job for projects located in a county that is part of a Joint Development Authority. |
